Founder & Creative Director Debbie is the visionary behind DE TIAMO, blending timeless design with ethical fashion. With a career in the fashion industry dating back to the early 1980s, she has designed and manufactured ladies’ wear and dressed some of South Africa’s most high-profile professional women. Trained as an Image Consultant through the internationally known Colour Me Beautiful Academy, Debbie has also been a sought-after speaker on image and communication. Today, she guides the creative direction of DE TIAMO while building a purpose-driven brand rooted in craftsmanship, mentorship, and community.

Georgie is DE TIAMO’s Head Designer and leads the brand’s design direction while overseeing our factory production team. With a Bachelor of Design specialising in fashion and an eye for innovation. Working closely with Debbie, Georgie ensures each collection is thoughtfully designed and beautifully brought to life. She works hands-on with the production teams and connects with customers with her vibrant spirit.

Paige brings thoughtful storytelling to DE TIAMO through the online and marketing platforms. With a Bachelor of Design specialising in fashion and a passion for creativity and art, she plays a role in shaping the brand’s digital presence and sharing the DE TIAMO story with our wider community while working alongside Georgie as she gains design experience.

Paula is DE TIAMO’s General Administrator and plays a key role in keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes. A growing business relies on strong systems, and Paula’s attention to detail, organisation, and efficiency help ensure everything stays on track. Her dedication and reliability make her an invaluable part of the DE TIAMO family.

Jody joined DE TIAMO during a period of rapid growth, bringing valuable business expertise and systems knowledge to the team. As the business expands, his ability to improve efficiency and implement effective systems became an important part of supporting the brand’s continued success. With a forward-thinking approach and a keen interest in AI, Jody helps ensure that DE TIAMO remains well-positioned for future growth.

Thobi Mabuza is our brilliant barista with world-class coffee skills! She whips up delicious cakes, charms customers with her knowledge of our clothing and brand and still finds time to lend a hand in the studio with pressing, packing, and dispatching.

Promise was the very first lady to join our studio team. She began her journey at DE TIAMO during COVID, when Debbie taught her to sew after noticing her creative flair while working in the garden. Quick to master the skill, Promise soon became a mentor to every new team member who followed. Today, she works closely with Nonto, playing a key role in shaping the studio’s craftsmanship and spirit.

Nonto, second member to join the team, combines her BComm background with a passion for creativity. A perfectionist at heart, she leads the studio with quiet strength, ensuring every garment is crafted with pride while mentoring the ladies to refine their skills and grow.

Minie, the third member to join our studio, quickly revealed her natural talent for sewing. A dedicated and highly skilled team member, she now also helps train and mentor new studio members, sharing her expertise and passion. 

Nontu joined as our fourth team member in the studio and quickly mastered her craft with guidance from the studio. Now highly skilled, she brings warmth and positivity to the team with her constant smile. 

Amanda Mzolo, our Chief Cutting Queen, is a true all-round talent! From helping in the studio to front of house, she does it all. But her superpower lies in the studio, where she carefully cuts each garment; the first step in creating magic for our seamstresses.

Nontu Zondi is the teams cheerful jack-of-all-trades! From studio work to front of store, whipping up coffees, pressing, checking, and packing orders, she does it all; and always with a smile.

Thando is the newest member of the DE TIAMO sewing team, joining us as the business continues to grow. With a cheerful
personality and a positive attitude, she has quickly become a valued part ofthe factory.

Mphilo is a seamstress trainee at DE TIAMO, developing her garment-making skills while learning from the experienced studio team. Known for her big smile and cheerful spirit. Mphilo also assists Debbie in keeping the shop beautifully organised. 

Eric works tirelessly behind the scenes keeping the grounds immaculate, handling all the maintenance, and making sure our store always look beautiful and world-class.
